Risk disclosure

Investing can help your money grow, but it always carries risk. Please read this before you invest so you know what could go wrong.

01You could lose money

The value of investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you put in. Past performance is not a reliable guide to future results. Only invest money you will not need in the short term and can afford to lose.

02Investment plans

  • Each plan states its term and target return. A stated rate is not a guarantee of the underlying assets' performance.
  • Your money is committed for the full term and cannot be withdrawn early.
  • Plans marked higher risk can move more sharply in either direction.

03Fractional property

  • Projected rental yields are estimates. Rent can fall, units can sit empty and costs can rise.
  • Property values can fall, and selling your shares may take time.
  • Rent is paid out only when it is received from tenants.

04Crypto assets

  • Crypto prices are extremely volatile and can fall to zero.
  • Crypto assets are generally not covered by deposit protection or investor compensation schemes.
  • Markets trade around the clock, so prices can move sharply while you are asleep.

05Spreading your risk

Putting all your money into one product or asset increases risk. Spreading it across different investments, and keeping an emergency fund in cash, can reduce the impact if one of them performs badly.

06This is not advice

Equity provides information and tools, not personal recommendations. If you are unsure whether an investment is right for you, speak to a qualified independent financial adviser.
